Fundraiser September 22 for scholarship in honor of late chef

A fundraiser to establish a scholarship fund in honor of Chef Mark Noseda will take place September 22.

Noseda passed away August 16, a day before the soft opening of Freighters in Port Huron.  Noseda was an executive chef for Meritage Hospitality Group, which includes Twisted Rooster in My Town Ada/Cascade and Crooked Goose in My Town Walker. He was 35 years old.

A scholarship fund in Noseda’s name is being established to support culinary students attending Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education.  Sunday's fundraiser will run from noon to 3 p.m.  at Amore Trattoria Italiana Restaurant, located at 5080 Alpine Ave. NW in Comstock Park.  The brunch and auction will be hosted by local chefs Jenna Arcidiacono, Randy Finch and Tommy FitzGerald.

Donations to the scholarship fund can also be made through any Lake Michigan Credit Union branch, under the Chef Mark Noseda Scholarship Fund account name.
