Paul Collins’ Art to be displayed at The Intersection during ArtPrize | Arts & Culture
Artwork produced by internationally acclaimed artist, Paul Collins, will be featured at The Intersection during ArtPrize 2012. Collins will be displaying over a dozen works of art, including some that have not been previously exhibited to the public, in addition to other pieces specifically selected by Collins.
Awarded one of the top 20 figurative painters by Watson-Guptill Publications, this self-taught artist’s career spans over 5 decades of accomplishments. His brilliant combination of technical mastery and emotional power embraces and unveils people of all ages, races and cultures. Collin’s captures their truth and raw reality, sharing with us the beauty and traditions that are the legacy (bio courtesy of CollinsArt.com).
“The Intersection is a local live music institution and regularly features the best and most diverse live music, not iconic art,” reports Michael Landon, the Intersections’ Venue Manager. Landon remarks, “I have known Paul Collins for many years and always admired his art. This year we were looking for a unique way to involve ourselves in ArtPrize. So, I contacted Collins to see if there was any interest on his part to display his work in perhaps a less than traditional setting. To my surprise, he was interested!”
Media is requested to contact Michael Landon and RSVP for a VIP reception with Collins and his wife, Carol, for an opportunity to view Collins’ art on the opening night of ArtPrize September 19th, 2012 @ 6 pm.
