GRAND RAPIDS, MI – One Trick Pony Grill & Taproom is pleased to announce Chef Drew Turnipseed has

been hired as our Executive Chef.  Drew, most recently was at Brasserie Vivant as their Executive

Chef and has work under some of the best Chefs in the country, most notably Chef Thomas Keller at Per

Se in New York and at the James Bird House in NYC under Chef Kirsten Dixon participating with her on

“Iron Chefs” television show.  He has also studied abroad at Chateau La Gatte in France and has also

studied under bartenders and mixologist Gary Regan and Dale DeGroff.  He attended Art Institute of

New York, and The International Wine Center .

 

“ I’m going to enjoy getting back to the basics with comfort food; familiar items but sourced locally and

made from scratch. The owners want to start using a smoker which will allow me to reconnect with

my "roots", being from the South and loving BBQ.  It’s a change in direction for One

Trick Pony and it is great to be a part of this and having an exciting selling point that makes it fun

and interesting, while enticing people’s senses with the smell of the smoker to come in!”, said Chef

Turnipseed.
