Grand Rapids - The construction of the Rapid's new Silver Line may affect some travel times to Spectrum Health Medical Center through this summer.

The first phase has already begun and will last through June. As part of the project, two stations will be installed on Ransom Avenue near Crescent. A section of Ransom near the Women's Center and Renucci Hospitality House will be closed to cars and pedestrians.

Access to the Center and Hospitality House and Spectrum's Ramp 6 will remain open, but patients and visitors need to give themselves extra time. They can also use the maps and information provided by Spectrum Health at www.spectrumhealth.org/butterworth.

Detour signs will be posted to reroute traffic during construction. Here is the Phase 1 Detour information:

- Ramp 6 (patient & visitor parking between Renucci Hospitality House and the Women's Center:
     To access Ramp 6 from Ransom Avenue, traffic must turn on Ransom from Crescent Street.
     When exiting Ramp 6 on Ransom, traffic must turn right on Ransom to Crescent.
     The Ramp 6 entrance and exit on Barclay is also available.

- The Women's Center Entrance
     To access The Women's Center entrance from Lyon, traffic must go west to Bostwick, north to Crescent and
     east to The Women's Center entrance.

- Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Emergency Department
     To access the emergency department entrance from Lyon, traffic must go west on Lyon to Bostwick and north to
     the entrance.
