Wyoming Police, firefighters serve up food and fun for 'Soup's On for All'

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Wyoming police and firefighters helped raise money for families in need Monday night.

Catholic Charities West Michigan held the first of its two annual fundraisers Monday at the B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids.

"Soup's On for All" gives people a chance to taste different entrees and desserts made by local restaurants and bakeries. Police officers and firefighters from Wyoming were the servers.

The money raised funds programs like God's Kitchen in Grand Rapids.

"It's really a fun way to raise some money," says Soup's On organizer Deborah Nykamp. "Fundraisers can be a little stayed and not so much fun. This is really, really fun because people can eat and graze to their hearts content. We have bands so they can dance a little bit. It's really a fun way to actually make some money.

The second "Soup's On" fundraiser will be February 24 in Norton Shores.
