Energy issues and the faith community will be the focus of a conference to be held on October 5, 2011 in Grand Rapids.

Michigan Interfaith Power and Light is partnering with the Center for Sustainability at Aquinas College to sponsor its one-day, annual sustainability conference. The event brings together the faith community, students, professors, and anyone interested in learning more about energy savings, renewable energy, energy policies and carbon management and other sustainability-related "actionable" ideas.

Conference break-out sessions will include energy-saving ideas for houses of worship, state energy policies and initiatives, faith and environmental education, hands-on sessions, and much more (See below).

Dr. Andrew (Andy) Hoffman Ph.D., Holcim (US) Professor of Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan and Associate Director of the Frederick A. and Barbara M. Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, will offer a keynote address at 3:15PM entitled: "The Role of the Corporation in 21st Century Society."

Michigan Interfaith Power and Light is a statewide, ecumenical non-profit that focuses on energy programs and policies and sustainable practices for houses of worship. The Center for Sustainability at Aquinas College promotes principles and practices to restore the environment, foster economic prosperity and build vibrant and health communities.
