GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The community is invited to find out more about proposed service upgrades to Grand Valley State University’s Laker Line during a series of presentations Thursday, April 17.

Project leaders will release updates in the bus service study during the following times:

  • 9 a.m.  to 11 a.m.—Walker Fire Station, 4101 Lake Michigan Drive, Standale
  • 12 p.m.  to 2 p.m. – Kirkhoff Center on GVSU’s Allendale campus
  • 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Rapid Central Station, 250 Grandville Ave. SW, Grand Rapids

This is the second phase of the Laker Line study, which is aimed at identifying the best way to upgrade bus service between downtown Grand Rapids and GVSU’s main campus in Allendale, with stops on the city’s west side and Standale.   RAPID officials say the current 50 Campus Connector route has experienced the sharpest ridership increase of any route, carrying more than 12,000 riders each weekday during the school year.
