GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Former first ladies Barbara and Laura Bush will visit Grand Rapids in April to honor late first lady Betty Ford, who would have been 95 years old this year.

On April 8, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation is teaming up with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum to host a day-long conference and luncheon titled America's First Ladies: An Enduring Legacy.  The event will focus on the role of first ladies and how the affect society.

Susan Ford Bales will join the Bush's for a luncheon at the JW Marriott.  Tickets to attend are $50.

The first of two panel discussions, "First Ladies as Influence Makers", will begin at 3 p.m. inside the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum auditorium. The second panel discussion, "Honoring Betty Ford: A Family View", is scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m.  Susan Ford Bales and Steve Ford will serve as panelists.  The panel discussions are free and open to the public, but you must register in advance.
