Opera Grand Rapids launches community-wide coat and clothing drive

From: Opera Grand Rapids

Opera Grand Rapids is sending a message this holiday season, “the more you give, the more comes back.” Starting December 1 the professional opera company will be collecting warm winter coats and business clothing at the Betty Van Andel Opera Center. For each item dropped off, members of the community will receive a coupon for the Company’s February production of Puccini’s MANON LESCAUT.
Called “Warm Up With Opera Grand Rapids” the community wide coat and clothing drive will benefit the clothing pantries of the ICCF Family Homeless Shelter and the Women’s Resource Center.
“Often at this time of year people think about donating toys and food. While these are important, there is also a huge need in the community for warm clothing and business clothing,” said Sarah Mieras Opera Grand Rapids Communications Manager.
