GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Developers cut the ribbon Thursday on a multi-million-dollar renovation of an historic Grand Rapids building.

The old Klingman building on Ionia Avenue has become the Klingman Lofts, an 83-unit apartment building for low-income tenants.

Work on the building, across from the Downtown Market, began last spring and cost around $22 million.

Parts of the former Klingman warehouse date back 118 years.

The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
