GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Patients and their families at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital were treated to some spooky and super-powered visitors to celebrate Halloween.

The party was hosted by the hospital's child-life program. Festive crafts, Halloween games, and live music filled the lobby. The staff shared the importance of bringing holiday fun and traditions to the hospital, especially for the kids that aren't able to be outside.

"It's one of those things that kids who are in the hospital may not be able to participate in every day life," said Jennifer Hoekstra, "so we want to bring that here to the hospital to really celebrate and make sure they're not missing out."

Another highlight of the party: the superheroes who rappelled down the side of the building. Batman, Iron Man, Captain America, and Spider-Man stopped at every floor to wave at the people inside.
