GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - For this week's my town report, we're doing something a little different.  The RV Show is wrapping up at the DeVos Place and it's a big event that showcases a lot of west Michigan RV dealerships.

Tim Veurink, President of Veurink's RV Center said, "It's a big deal, we expect a lot of people and there'll be a lot of RV's for everyone to see."

Tim said that the show has been running for... "about 10 years now and we've been participating in it and like I said, the traffic's great and there's great deals there."

And a lot of Tim's customers even keep in touch with him.  There's a special bond between RV-ers.

Tim said, "Yes, well, you know, my wife, when she was, started working here, she was always amazed how many people would just come in and stop in to see their RV dealer and we have a good connection. The thing about RVing in Michigan is you can go anywhere within an hour of home here and be really somewhere nice, you know, we've got a beautiful resource with Lake Michigan a lot of campgrounds, you know, if you like the boondocks. We've got some nice rivers, woods, that kind of thing. So, that RV offers a lot of flexibility for people in west MIchigan."

Tim tells all of our viewers that have never been to the RV Show, "Well, I think it's just a great place just to get a good snapshot of what's out there in RV's, I mean, you'll find small fold down campers, they're very light weight, travel tritters as little as 8500 dollars so it's very affordable and you'll see the big motor homes as well and you know another thing that's gotten real popular are the luxury fifth wheels."

Speaking of one of those luxury models, we headed out to Midway RV Center to talk with the Sales Manager, Dave Ballast about one of the many models that is on display at the show.

Dave said, "This one here is loaded up about as loaded as you're going to find. It's got a residential refrigerator in it, full polished porcelain tile floor all the way through front to back. This model is a bath and a half floor plan. So you have a full master suite in the back with a half bath for your guests. Two piece washer/dryer, it's not missing much.

"This is a 2012 Dutch Star, this is a 43 foot diesel pusher, 450 horse diesel, new Mars exclusive comfort drive system and as you can see, it's loaded with everything, back-up camera, side view camera, you're ready to go."

Of course there will be a lot of models on display and the show runs through Sunday, February 5th.
