War criminal? Ford graffiti 'art' changed | News
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Is it art or is it vandalism? That was the question earlier this month when someone spray painted a stencil of President Gerald Ford on the freeway that bears his name.
Now, someone has altered those images.
A person spray-painted the words "war criminal" over both graffiti pieces, one of which is located on I-196. A passerby posted the new photos on the local blog, GRIID.
The original graffiti art said "I am indebted to no man" and some art critics called the uncommissioned work urban art. But MDOT says the paintings must come down, because they are a distraction to drivers, and could pose a hazard.
So what do you think, are the paintings of President Ford still art? Let us know on our Facebook page.
