The Hispanic Center of Western Michigan is the non-profit that hosts the Hispanic Center every year. The festival this year celebrates 35 years of celebrating the different cultures from Latin America. The funds collected through the festival help cover the different programs offered by the center.
As in previous years, the festival will take place at Calder Plaza, downtown Grand Rapids. The dates are Friday 9/7 and Saturday 9/8. The times for the festival are 1130A through 11P on both days. Saturday Ottawa Street will be closed to host a series of attractions targets to children.
During Friday and Saturday the entertainment consists of different dances from Latin America and bands playing Regional Mexican music on Friday and Salsa/Merengue music on Saturday. This year we have food from local Mexican restaurants and food vender providing Dominican food.
