ArtPrize & The Rapid offer transportation wristbands | News

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - More than 1,500 entries will be on display during this year's ArtPrize and it'll be difficult to see them all on foot, or by car. That's why ArtPrize is partnering with the Rapid this year.

For $5 voters can get two ArtPrize wristbands which will give them unlimited rides on Rapid buses while the competition is underway.

Peter Varga, CEO of the Rapid says riders with an iPhone can also get extra help navigating the event.

"They can take their iPhone and can put it to the QR code at the bus stop near them. It will tell them when the next bus is coming for the route that's near them.  We also coordinated with ArtPrize so that when you plug in the address (of venues and exhibition centers) it will tell them what route to take from where they are to the venue."

The wristbands will be available at nine area Meijer stores, The Hub and any ArtPrize exhibition center. ArtPrize begins September 19 and runs through October 7.
