Marine runs to remember 9-11 victims
News

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - On September 11, 2012 Tomas Ojeda ran 11 miles from his home in Wyoming to Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids.

He's made this run in honor of the victims of September 11th for the last five years. He carries an American flag with him as he runs.

Ojeda says, "It's an important symbol of what was attacked, our freedoms, our liberty and independence. And it's still being attacked today. So I think it's important that our enemies know that when we get knocked down, we always get up because we have something to fight for."

Ojeda finished his run with a moment of silence in Rosa Parks Circle, where the Grand Rapids Original Swing Society was holding a swing dance night.
