New epilepsy center opens in Grand Rapids | News
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - There are new options tonight in West Michigan for people suffering from epilepsy.
Spectrum Health today unveiled its newly expanded Epilepsy Unit at the Butterworth Campus in downtown Grand Rapids.
The observation unit is for patients who have re-occuring seizures not controled by medication. It's used to help determine whether a patient should undergo brain surgery.
2.2 million people suffer from epilepsy in the United States.
