GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - The ArtPrize contestant whose entry was removed from the B.O.B is burning his artwork in protest.
Earlier this week, B.O.B. owner, Greg Gilmore, removed the work of Artist Singh. It showed a dummy of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein hanging from a rope in a cage. Singh also planned more displays depicting rape, and other sexually graphic topics. Gilmore said it was inappropriate and took it down.
Artist Singh sent WZZM 13 News pictures of his artwork on fire. Singh says he's doing it to make a statement and pave the way for future artists so they can feel free to express themselves.
Singh says he will not participate in ArtPrize in the future.
Singh is based in the Kalamazoo area.
