'Thank You, BEER!' opens at public museum | News

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-Grand Rapids is Beer City, USA, and now you can celebrate with a beer at the public museum.

The museum's newest exhibit, 'Thank You, BEER!' opened to the public Saturday. Visitors can learn about the history, science and culture of beer. The museum's curator says all of the area's breweries contributed to the display, which took six months to put together.

"The history of beer is something that's truly fascinating, and it was a story that really resonated with us here in Grand Rapids. Because of all the great things that are going on, with all of the breweries in town, we thought it was a great time to tell that story," said collections curator Alex Forist.

The museum is hosting 'Hoppy Hour' every Tuesday and Saturday afternoon so visitors can sample local beers while touring the exhibit. There's even root beer for children.
