Kent County Commission elect new chairman
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Kent County Board of Commissioners has a new leader. Dan Koorndyk was elected Thursday morning as the board's chairman.
He spoke with WZZM 13 about his goals for the years ahead.
"The biggest challenge would probably be the the personal property taxes which was recently passed in the lame duck session in Lansing, and dealing with how that affects our budget. Most likely 2014 instead of 2013 but we need to work with our state legislators to make sure we have a positive outcome" said Koorndyk.
Koorndyk has served on the Kent County Commission for eight years.
