GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The West Michigan Environmental Action Council has introduced it's second film series featuring five movies dealing with different aspects of our ecosystem.
From fracking to farming and wind turbines to coal mines. The movies featured are; Promised Land, Urban Roots, Seeds of Freedom, The Last Mountain and Power Surge.
Jen Shaneberger, Hospitality Coordinator for West Michigan Environmental Action Council explained, "Instead of watching an international documentary and feeling like, 'Well, this problem doesn't connect to me,' we're gonna show you how this, these issues do connect to you. And, maybe some small changes that you can make in your daily choices."
The first showing on January 4th was a big success almost completely selling out the 300 seat theater.
The next four events will be held at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Beginning with Urban Roots; showing on Tuesday, February 5th starting at 6 pm with brief introductory remarks and ending with a panel discussion after the film.
WMEAC is requesting a five dollar donation at the door.
