GR business leaders challenged to dream | News
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- This city's business and community leaders Tuesday were implored to dream what they want for their city.
The words came from Dr. Lance Secretan, an author and leadership coach, who was the keynote speaker at the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce's 125th annual meeting at DeVos Place. Secretan's most recent book is "The Spark, The Flame and the Torch."
"What would the dream be for Grand Rapids?" asked Secretan. "One of the reasons we want to do that is our political system at the federal level is broken, so it's going to be up to the cities to get our politics back and great cities, with dreams will do that."
Secretan is the former CEO of a Fortune 100 company, a university professor, an award-winning columnist and author of 15 books about leadership, emphasizing the connection between high performance and inspiring the heart, mind and soul. He is a man with a self-proclaimed dream: "To change the world by creating inspiring organizations."
Towards that end, he has dedicated his life to transforming companies and communities, changing the lives of the people who live and work in them, and revolutionizing the way leaders lead.
Also at the Chamber's annual meeting, Bill Benson of the William Charles Search Group took over the reins as the group's new chairman.
