East Fulton businesses prepare for 'Shop Hop'

Grand Rapids, MI November 29, 2011 – Caring for neighbors who live around the corner as well as around the world this Christmas season, the Salvation Army will be supporting the East Fulton Business District and their annual “Shop Hop” event. A full evening of “Shop Hop” festivities is planned, including specials and treats from the district’s businesses as well as an opportunity to meet and greet area neighbors and friends. The Salvation Army Brass Band will stroll the East Fulton District, filling the evening air with sounds of Christmas carols. The East Fulton Business District stretches along East Fulton - from Fuller at the east to the Fulton Street Cemetery at the west.

“The East Fulton ‘Shop Hop’ provides us a wonderful opportunity to support neighborhood merchants as well as to interact with a vibrant local community base,” said Major James McDowell, Grand Rapids Fulton Heights Corps Officer. “We are proud to support our neighborhood businesses as well as participating in a lively and enjoyable evening with all of our neighbors along East Fulton,” the Major added.

There is no charge for the event and the public is encouraged to attend.
