Take It to the Street: Tag Team Poetry is the love child of a poetry slam commingled with a raucous round of musical chairs. Experience the usual suspects (like folding chairs and fists full of scrawled or typed pages containing emotive, hilarious and possibly deranged poems) in an entertaining new way.

Curated by veteran published poet Katherine Marty and sponsored by ArtPeers, Take It to the Street: Tag Team Poetry returns to the Art.Downtown event for the second time.

The concept involves a shifting team of poets, reading for three hours.

"They will all sit in a row, one poet will stand up and read, go to the end of the line," Marty said. "All poets must commit to reading five poems in five consecutive cycles ...

Trip to dog park keeps dog, owner happy

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - If your dog is anything like mine, months of staying inside due to cold weather can really make him (and his owner) frustrated. You might not know it but, there is a great dog park located off of Lyon Street NE near Michigan and Fuller (see map below). Luckily I was able to take Ted to the park earlier this week since the snow had melted and warmer temperatures allowed him to stay outside and on his feet longer. As you can see from the photo, it left him feeling very happy.

This class is designed for those who already have a working knowledge of computers and the Internet. Learn the basics of how to search and apply for jobs online, including how to create an online resume, search for jobs online using job search engines, and the basics of filling out online job applications.
