Friday, April 15th, 6-9:00pm at UICA, 41 Sheldon Blvd. SE Join us at the Opening Reception for Associations. This exhibition will feature the work of UICA's Visual Arts Committee and over 25 invited artists. The Visual Arts Committee will select artists that have previously shown at UICA to join them for an encore appearance. In turn, each invited artist will choose another artist to participate as a means of encouraging new connections and collaboration. Meet the artists, explore their work, and enjoy hors d'oeuvres with drinks.

The Haus of Leisure by Le Garcon LeFrance has partnered with the JW Marriott to bring the Little Black Dress Valentine's party to downtown Grand Rapids. Starting at 8:00 p.m. Feb. 12th, this 21-and-over event is free, with a cash bar, late night snacks, and "The Women" runway fashion show at 9:00 p.m. DJ Todd Ernst entertains until 1:00 a.m. Recommended attire is black couture (with or without a date).

A hairy question.

I really want to address the question of: "Where do you recommend a good haircut?"

While I struggle to find a good barber in the traditional sense of the word in Grand Rapids who understands what a modern man is looking for in just the right coif (please pass on the name of the establishment if you have had better luck), I have had the good fortune of a recommendation or two from some very well-cut gentlemen.
